Options include school bus services and commercial services.
Nexus and bus operators are providing extra vehicles and drivers across Tyne and Wear, following familiar routes with the highest demand, to improve social distancing and ensure children can get to and from school safely. To find out more information visit the Nexus website.
School bus services
For the 2023/24 academic year, Nexus will continue to provide school bus services throughout South Tyneside.

Commercial bus services
You can get to many schools by commercial bus services (Stagecoach or Go North East) which operate throughout the times of the school run.
To check whether you can travel to school on a commercial bus service, Nexus has developed the below options which can help with planning your journey:
