Charges for non-attendance
All courses are offered free of charge but there is charging policy for non-attendance at pre-booked training places and for non-completion of e-learning courses.
This aims to maximise the availability and cost-effectiveness of our training programme.
Charges for not attending face to face training
Once you and you manager receive an acknowledgement email of your course request, please make sure you add this to your diary.
You will receive a course confirmation email approximately 6 weeks prior to the training event. This will will include the course location, times and any relevant information in connection to the course.
If you can no longer attend the event, you must send an apology email to STSCAP@southtyneside.gov.uk and copy in your manager.
If you are not able to email the us, your manager must let us know on your behalf.
You, or you manager, must let us know of non-attendance at least 2 working days before the course. If you do not let us know at least 2 days before, you will still be charged.
If you cannot attend on the day of the course
If you cannot attend on the day of the course, your manager can offer a replacement to go in your place and there will be no charge. However, you must let us know by emailing STSCAP@southtyneside.gov.uk before the course begins.
Please note, you or your manager must send an email to STSCAP@southtyneside.gov.uk, a phone call will not be accepted.
If you call in sick on the day of the course
If you call in sick on the day of the course, and a replacement cannot attend, your manager must let us know on 0191 424 6512 before 10am on the day. They must follow this up in writing with an email to STSCAP@southtyneside.gov.uk.
Please note, if the phone call is not followed up with an email you will still be charged.
Charges
- Non-attendance at a full day training will be £50
- Non-attendance at a half day training will be £25
Invoices will be issued to both Internal and External Agencies to recoup the relevant charges on a monthly basis
Charges for not completing an e-learning course
There is a charge of £40 for any e-learning module that has not been started or finished in four weeks.
