Safeguarding training

Attending a course

Face-to-face training

The face-to-face training will take place at Boldon Community Association and The Word.

Once you have completed the online application, you will receive an acknowledgement email that your application has been received. You are advised to block out the time in your diary.

We will then look through the applications to make sure there is a mix of practitioners from different organisations. Having a mix of people will help enhance your learning and knowledge at the training course.

Once we are happy there's a mix of applicants, we'll send you and your line manager a course confirmation email and an Outlook invite approximately 6 weeks before the training event.

The email will include the course details, location, times and any other relevant information in connection to the course.

Virtual training courses and briefing sessions

The virtual training courses and briefing sessions will take place on Microsoft Teams.

You will receive an acknowledgement email that your application has been received and you are advised to block out the time in your diary.

We'll send you an Outlook invitation with a link to join the session, and any other relevant information in connection to the course, approximately 6 week before the course.

Who can attend

Anyone working with children, adults and families in South Tyneside can apply for a place. Safeguarding is everybody's responsibility.

Who runs the courses

The courses are provided by the key agencies within the combined Workforce Development and Training subgroup of the South Tyneside Safeguarding Children and Adults Partnership.

The courses are facilitated and co-ordinated by the Learning and Development Adviser.

The delivery of the following courses are supported by members of the training pool of professionals from South Tyneside:

  • Domestic Abuse: Level 1 Blended Learning
  • Domestic Abuse: Level 2 Blended Learning

How the courses are evaluated

We ask all attendees to complete an evaluation.

At the course, we'll advise you of the method of evaluation, and support you to complete it.

We also carry out enhanced, more in-depth evaluations every quarter. If you're attending a course with an enhanced evaluation, we'll tell you about the evaluation process before the course.

Certificates of attendance

After you've attended a course and completed the evaluation, we'll provide you with an electronic certificate of attendance.
