If you have care experience, please get in touch with work.experience@southtyneside.gov.uk or our Leaving Care team.

Next steps

We are hosting work experience drop-in sessions to offer guidance for those who have not been able to find work experience.

Those interested in the Adult Social Care sector should contact our colleagues at careacademy@southtyneside.gov.uk.

Health and safety

South Tyneside Council complete thorough, individual risk assessments to keep our young people safe.

We have hundreds of different teams, such as plasterers, web developers, and policy officers, whose day to day work looks entirely different, and carries diverse risks. Therefore, we cannot issue a generic risk assessment.

Any parent or member of school staff who wants to view an individual's risk assessment can contact work.experience@southtyneside.gov.uk, or the named manager in charge of the placement.
