Overview

Small and medium-sized retailers in South Tyneside can apply for a grant of up to £2500 to make shop front improvements.

The grant is being offered to help businesses recover from Coronavirus (COVID-19).

There is a limited budget available - grants will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.

You cannot apply for a grant for work that has already been carried out.

Eligibility criteria applies.

The grant is administered by South Tyneside Council. The Council has discretion over the grant scheme and its decisions in connection with the scheme will be final.

Creating the right conditions for recovery and investment, and supporting town centres, high streets and villages, are key priorities for the Council.


How much is available

You can apply for up to 50% of your project costs (see which project costs are eligible).

Example

You want to spend £5000 on shop front improvements.

You could apply for a grant of £2500 (50%).

You would need to fund the remaining £2500 (50%).

The maximum you can get is £2500.

The minimum you can get is £500 - this means you must have at least £1000 of eligible project costs.
