Easter holiday recipe idea: Vanilla biscuits
This recipe is from Lynn, a School Chef in South Tyneside.
Ingredients
Makes roughly 20 biscuits.
- Plain flour - 240g
- Margarine - 192g
- Dried semolina - 48g
- Sugar - 96g
- Vanilla essence - 2 to 3 teaspoons
- And something to decorate your biscuits with
Method
- Put all ingredients in a bowl, except the vanilla essence
- Mix or rub together until it looks like bread crumbs
- Then add vanilla essence and gather together in a ball
- Flour the work surface and roll out the mixture to roughly a inch depth
- Use any cutter you wish to cut the biscuits
- Rub some margarine on a baking tray and place the biscuits on the tray
- Put in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes (gas mark 3 / 325 fahrenheit / 162 celsius)
- Remove from the oven, take the biscuits off the tray and put on a wire rack to cool
- Decorate your biscuits however you like
