  • Altering the limited waiting 2 hour no return within 4 hour on any day 9am to 6pm restrictions on Lawe Road, South Shields

South Tyneside Council (Lawe Road, South Shields) Order 2020

On 3 December 2020 South Tyneside Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

The Order which comes into operation on 18 December 2020 will revoke:

  • Limited Waiting, 2 hours, no return within 4 hours on any day 9am - 6pm on Lawe Road, South Shields east side from a point 19 metres north west of the northern kerb line of its junction with Ocean Road in a north westerly direction for a distance of 25 metres and from a point 63 metres north west of the northern kerb line of its junction with Ocean Road in a north westerly direction for a distance of 15 metres
  • Residents Permit Holder Parking - 5pm to 8am on Lawe Road, South Shields west side from a point 40 metres north west of the northern kerb line of its junction with Ocean Road in a north westerly direction for a distance of 40 metres and east side from a point 78 metres north west of the northern kerb line of its junction with Ocean Road in a north westerly direction for a distance of 30 metres

The Order will introduce:

  • Limited Waiting, 2 hours, no return within 4 hours on any day 9am - 6pm on Lawe Road, South Shields east side from a point 19 metres north of its junction with Ocean Road/Sea Road in a northerly direction for distance of 91 metres
  • Residents Permit Holder Parking at all times on Lawe Road, South Shields west side from a point 43 metres north of its junction with Ocean Road in a northerly direction for a distance of 70 metres

Full details are contained in the Order, which, together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm at the Town Hall, Westoe Road, South Shields, NE33 2RL.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any of the requirements of the Act or of any relevant regulations made under the Act have not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from 3 December 2020 when the Order was made, make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
