Overview

We are creating a network of COVID Community Champions to help us keep people safe, reassured and supported in these uncertain times.

Keeping our communities well informed will help stop the spread of infection.

How it works

  1. Sign up to be a COVID Community Champion
  2. Every two weeks, we'll send you the latest information about COVID-19
  3. You share this information with anyone in your community
  4. Let us know:
    • what information or guidance is and isn't working
    • if any information is confusing
    • if you're getting questions you cannot answer from your local community

Who can become a COVID Community Champion

You can become a COVID Community Champion if you:

  • live or work in South Tyneside
  • can help us share important health information and government guidance across South Tyneside

You do not need experience or to give up a lot of your time.

The only thing you need is a willingness to help us share information with others.

What you need to do and how we will support you

We will provide you with the latest information about the local and national response to COVID-19 for you to share with others - online, in print, or by discussing it with family, friends and colleagues.

We would like you to tell us what is and is not working, and what support or extra information your community needs.

You can choose to stay in touch with us in the way you would find most helpful. This could be by email, telephone or joining our Facebook group.

We will work together to share information to help respond to concerns, worries or tensions in the community.
