South Tyneside Council (Ocean Road, South Shields) Order 2020

On 7 August 2020 South Tyneside Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

The Order which comes into operation on 14 August 2020 will revoke:

  • Loading Bay any day 4am - 8pm on Ocean Road north side from a point 50 metres east of its junction with Anderson Street for a distance of 13 metres in an easterly direction
  • Limited Waiting 2 hours no return in 4 hours any day 4am-8pm on Ocean Road north side from a point 63 metres east of its junction with Anderson Street for a distance of 24 metres in an easterly direction.

The Order will introduce:

  • Limited Waiting 3 hours, no return within 2 hours Monday to Saturday 8am-6pm on Ocean Road north side from a point 16 metres west of its junction with the western kerb line of Baring Street for a distance of 31 metres in a westerly direction
  • Disabled Bay 3 hours no return in 4 hours at any time on any day on Ocean Road north side from a point 47 metres west of its junction with the western kerb line of Baring Street for a distance of 12 metres in a westerly direction
  • Loading Bay Monday to Saturday 9am -3pm on Ocean Road north side from a point 59 metres west of its junction with the western kerb line of Baring Street for a distance of 15 metres in a westerly direction.

Full details are contained in the Order, which, together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm at the Town Hall, Westoe Road, South Shields, NE33 2RL.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any of the requirements of the Act or of any relevant regulations made under the Act have not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from 7 August 2020 when the Order was made, make an application for that
