Coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency business grant request

Following the government announcements South Tyneside Council will deliver business grants as quick as possible. The Council is working at a fast pace to ensure the emergency grants are paid directly to your business bank account and rates relief is applied where applicable.

• Any retail/hospitality/leisure businesses operating from premises within South Tyneside with a Rateable Value up to £15,000 will receive a grant of £10,000. Any retail/hospitality/leisure businesses operating from premises within South Tyneside with a Rateable Value between £15,000 and £51,000 will get a £25,000 grant.
• Any small business in any sector already in receipt of Small Business Rates Relief will get a £10,000 grant.

If your business is eligible for either of the two emergency grants outlined above South Tyneside Council will contact you directly. In the meantime, if you think your business may be eligible please complete this form, as we will need to verify your business bank details and validate your details.

You will require a business rates account reference to complete this form. This is either a seven digit number or a six digit number and an "X" (e.g. 1281151 or 128115X). If you do not know this number please call 0191 424 4299 to check.
