Coronavirus (COVID-19): Leisure centres and libraries

South Tyneside Council leisure centres and libraries are closed, as of Thursday 19 March 2020.

We are continuing to deal with the impact of COVID-19 across the Borough. We want to reiterate that we are doing everything we can to support people to be safe and to limit the spread of the coronavirus in line with national government guidance.

We want to stress that decisions about service delivery are not taken lightly. However, the safety of our residents and colleagues is our top priority.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times. We will keep you updated as the situation unfolds.
