January 2020

Well done to Hadrian School Primary Choir who represented The 'Gateshead and South Tyneside Music Education Hub' at the Annual Durham Vocal Festival.  Having been shortlisted along with Cleadon Academy to attend, they took first place and were named as The 'North East KS2 Choir of the Year 2020'.

The choir made up of children from years 3 to 6, led by Michelle Giles, accompanied by Andrew Richardson won the judges over with a medley of songs from Les Miserables.

The competition which takes place each year at Durham Cathedral attracts schools from across the North East.  Following their win Hadrian Primary will perform at the Sage Gateshead in July and will be invited back to the cathedral in 2021.

Our Hub was also represented in the KS3 Choir of the Year by students from St Wilfrid's RC Academy and St Joseph's RC Academy.  St Wilfrid's led by Andrew Mair were highly commended for their performance.

Congratulations to everybody involved.
