Climate Change Emergency to be Focus of Meeting

South Tyneside Council's plans for a carbon neutral future will be discussed at a community meeting next week.

Residents who live in the West Shields, Cleadon and East Boldon areas of South Tyneside can hear what is happening in their neighbourhood at the next Community Area Forum (CAF).

Members will hear about the Council's pledge to take all necessary steps to become carbon neutral by 2030 and updates on plans to achieve this as well as establishing change across the Borough.

Councillors will also receive a report on housing and area management activity carried out by South Tyneside Homes and how funding from the CAF has benefited the local area and communities.

The meeting will be held on Thursday 5 December at 10am in South Shields Town Hall. Members of both the public and press are welcome.
