South Tyneside's school orchestras and choirs will be spreading festive cheer next week when the Civic Carol Concert returns.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to celebrate Christmas with an evening of seasonal songs and Christmas carols on Monday 2 December, from 7pm until 9pm at Temple Park Centre in South Shields.
The audience will be treated to entertainment from the South Tyneside Orchestra accompanied by a host of choirs from South Tyneside schools. Tickets cost £4 each.
The Mayor of South Tyneside, Councillor Norman Dick, said: "The Mayoress and I are really looking forward to the civic carol concert.
"It is set to be a fantastic evening where people can come together to celebrate Christmas and sing along to some festive favourites.
"We can't wait to see school children from across the Borough take to the stage and help spread festive cheer. The children are extremely talented and it really pulls on your heartstrings to hear their wonderful voices fill the audience with joy.
"I would encourage everybody to come along and join the children in singing some Christmas carols and really get into the Christmas spirit."
Tickets are available from Shop @ The Word, National Centre for the Written Word, participating schools and can be purchased by calling 0191 455 4031. Tickets can also be purchased on the night of the event from Temple Park Centre.
The Civic Carol Concert is just one of a number of events and activities taking place as part of the South Tyneside's Christmas Wonderland programme.
