Free exercise classes for knee and hip pain (ESCAPE Pain)

Overview
ESCAPE Pain is a free 6-week programme that uses exercise, education and strategies to help you increase your ability to exercise and manage your hip and knee joint pain better.
Completing this programme will help you to:
- carry out normal activities
- manage your symptoms
- become more active
- continue to exercise

Who the classes are for
These classes are for those who are over 45, with hip and knee pain which has lasted more than 3 months.
2022 dates and times
In each 6-week programme, there are two sessions per week.

Haven Point
Programmes start on:
- Tuesday 11 January
- Tuesday 22 February
- Tuesday 5 April
Sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2pm to 3pm.
Hebburn Central
Programmes start on:
- Tuesday 18 January
- Tuesday 1 March
- Tuesday 12 April
Sessions on Tuesdays 2pm and Thursdays 1.30pm.
Jarrow Focus
Programmes start on:
- Monday 10 January
- Monday 21 February
- Monday 4 April
Sessions on Mondays 3.30pm and Thursdays 2.30pm.
Age Concern Tyneside South (ACTS)
Programmes start on:
- Monday 10 January
Sessions on Mondays 1pm and Thursdays 12pm.
How to access the classes
You can access a class through referrals from primary care. This includes GP practices, pharmacies and Age Concern Tyneside South.
