Visitors to South Shields seafront will be left spellbound this weekend as bonfire night celebrations get underway with a sparkling fireworks display.
South Tyneside Council has joined forces with Ocean Beach Pleasure Park to stage two free displays this Sunday 3 November - a short one at 6.30pm and the main display at 8pm.
The Mayor, Councillor Norman Dick, said: "The annual fireworks display is always such a wonderful family night out.
"We would urge families to wrap up warm and visit our seafront to enjoy an amazing fireworks display. I am sure that all those who attend will have a brilliant time."
The display will take place behind Ocean Beach Pleasure Park in Sea Road and is sponsored by The New Sundial.
Visitors are advised to allow plenty of time for travel to the event as the roads around the display will be busy and queues likely at the Seafront car parks.
There will be parking available at Bents Park, South Shields, for £2 per car. People are advised not to bring any of their own fireworks or sparklers to the event and to leave dogs at home.
