The opportunity to hear about the Clinical Commissioning Group's plans for end of life care in South Tyneside is on offer at a community meeting next week.
Residents who live in Jarrow and Boldon are encouraged to come along to the next meeting of their Community Area Forum (CAF) to hear about these plans.
Attendees will receive an update on the work carried out with partners across health, social care, voluntary sectors and residents of South Tyneside to produce a model for palliative and end of life care in the Borough.
Attendees will also receive information about the recommended model and how the findings will be implemented.
Chair of the Committee, Councillor Margaret Peacock, said: "It is important that the Borough has an end of life and palliative care service that best meets the needs of South Tyneside residents. The service looks to improve the number of patients who end their life in their desired place and to fulfil people's requirements and expectations about how end of life care is delivered."
The meeting will be held on Thursday 17 October at 10.00am at Jarrow Town Hall. Members of the press and public are welcome to attend.
