Foodies across South Tyneside are in for a treat next month as the week-long celebration of good food returns.
South Tyneside Restaurant Week, now in its fifth year, will run for seven consecutive days from Saturday 5 October to Saturday 12 October,giving residents and visitors a chance to enjoy a vast range of cuisines from a number of different eateries across the Borough.
The Restaurant Week menus, prices and offers will differ from venue to venue with a variety of options to suit all tastes. Diners can enjoy hearty pub grub, traditional seaside food, fine dining and dishes from around the world for a special price during the event.
Councillor Alan Kerr, Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, said: "South Tyneside Restaurant Week is always a great success and creates a real buzz in the community. It is just one of a year-round programme of events we run to boost tourism in the Borough.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for people to treat themselves to some high quality food in relaxed surroundings. With so many restaurants to choose from, people really will be spoilt for choice."
Returning restaurants that have signed up to the event so far include, Colmans Seafood Temple, Hive Coffee Company, Mamma Mia, Star of India, The Clifton, The Marine, The Red Lion, The Sand Dancer, Turkuisine and Zeera.
There are also some new additions to this year's line-up including Charleston's Coffee House, Dame Bella's at the Custom House, eaststreet19, The Grey Horse Inn, The New Sundial and The Raj.
