Road Safety Concerns to be Focus of CAF Meeting

A study to investigate road safety concerns will be highlighted at the next meeting of East Shields and Whitburn Community Area Forum.

Members will be told about an investigation into the safety of the A1300 John Reid Road in South Shields between Boldon Lane and King George Road.

Councillors will also be provided with the results of a speed survey and an assessment into accident data in order to help resolve any issues around the John Reid Road area.

Councillor Alex Donaldson, Chair of the CAF, said: "Road safety is one of our key priorities and I know council officers have been working alongside the police to address concerns about this stretch of road.

"I am interested to hear the outcome of their investigations and about potential solutions they have identified."

The next meeting of the CAF will be held at 6pm on Thursday 29 August at St Gregory's Church Hall, South Shields. Members of the public and the press are welcome to attend the meeting.
