An exciting range of children's activities will be taking place in centres across South Tyneside over the school holidays this Summer.
Princess and Pirate parties, Zoo lab, little and loud music sessions and a children's entertainer are just some of the highlights that will be on offer.
The entertainment, along with free meals, will be offered at centres across the Borough for three days during the middle four weeks of the long school holidays to ease the pressure on struggling families.
The meals will be provided at the following venues: Biddick Children's Centre, Horsley Hill Children's Centre, Boldon Children's Centre, Marine Park Children's Centre, Riverside Children's Centre Simonside Climbing Wall, Hedworthfield CA and the PHAB Club, next to Jarrow Focus. The venue for Whitburn has yet to be confirmed.
Councillor Moira Smith, Lead Member for Children, Young People and Families, said: "We want all our young people to have the best start in life but we recognise that the long school holidays can be a particularly difficult time for families.
"By providing a healthy meal and activities to keep the little ones entertained, we hope to be able to ease the pressure on families."
The entertainment is suitable for children up to the age of 11 and children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Families are advised to contact their local children's centre to book a place or visit www.southtyneside.gov.uk/summerclub for more details.
