Share your old photos of housing in South Tyneside

This year (2019) is the Centenary of the Housing Act 1919, known as the Addison Act, which paved the way for large-scale council housing.

The Housing Act saw Local Authorities given funding along with the task of building good quality housing for working class people in their areas.

To celebrate this, we would be really interested to hear any stories, or see any pictures that you have and want to share with us, specifically of houses, or housing estates from the 1920s onwards.

This will help to celebrate all of the positive work that has been done across South Tyneside to house local people.
