19LPA - DfE Guidance Materials: Managing Workload

About this course

Content:

  • Familiarity with the DfE guidance materials on managing workload and how these materials can be used within the school setting
  • Opportunities to discuss systems and procedures with colleagues in other settings and to share good practice around managing workload
  • Case studies (published and those shared within the group)
  • Time to plan and review the impact of actions

Expected Impact on School/Setting:

  • Schools develop their systems in place for evaluating the impact of workload on teaching and non-teaching staff
  • Schools would have evidence to support the Ofsted focus on Workload (page 16 BP 63-64 School Inspection Handbook section 8 published May 2019)

Target Group: Senior leaders within primary or secondary schools / Practitioners with responsibility for supporting staff wellbeing

NB: Two half days are planned. It is intended that practitioners should have at least delivered the "Identifying Issues" workshop before session 2 (In secondary this might be in one department). Session 2 will provide time for reflection and feedback from initial actions and future action planning as well as consideration of published case studies.

Dates:  1st October 2019 & 3rd December 2019  (both days must be attended)

Target Group: Headteachers
