Consultation on proposed secondary school catchment areas 2020/21

The Council is required to change the agreed admission arrangements for 2020/21, following Cabinet's decision to close South Shields School in August 2020.

What is being proposed?

The Council is proposing that the current catchment area for South Shields School will be split between Boldon School and Mortimer Community College.

The catchment area would be split using the shortest distance measured as a straight line, from the Ordnance Survey coordinates for the postal addresses to the school main entrance, using South Tyneside Council's Geographic Information System (GIS).
