Families can enjoy some Easter fun while finding out more about the restoration of an historic South Shields park at an information event next week.
Young visitors to North Marine Park at South Shields seafront will get to enjoy activities led by popular children's entertainer Tony Junior, while grown-ups can take the opportunity to join Parks Officer, Jade Ridley, and members of the Friends of North and South Marine parks, to look at the park restoration plans including the proposed new play area and trim trail.
The event is taking place on Wednesday 17 April, from 11am to 3pm,on the grassed section of the park near Haven Point.
South Tyneside Council is restoring the historic North Marine Park back to its original Victorian splendour, with support from a £2.4m grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF).
Preliminary works have already started, with contractors expected to begin construction in the summer, undertaking the work in phases so that the park remains open for visitors.
