Officers from South Tyneside Council and Northumbria Police are hoping to score more than a few goals when they take part in a charity football match next week.
The two teams will play a friendly match in aid of McMillan Cancer Support.
The event kicks off next Monday (1 April) at 5.30pm at Harton Welfare in South Shields.
People are encouraged to come along and show their support by paying a £1 entry fee with all proceeds going to the charity.
The Mayor of South Tyneside, Councillor Ken Stephenson, will be a linesman at the match.
The Mayor said: "It's anybody's guess who will score on the night but the ultimate goal is to raise money for a very worthwhile charity.
"I hope people will come along and show their support, I'm sure they are in for a 'fan-tastic' evening."
