Residents in South Tyneside took advantage of an event last week to find out how to improve their mental wellbeing.
The Mayor, Councillor Ken Stephenson, opened the event at Jarrow Focus, which saw representatives from a number of organisations come together and offer advice and support.
The Mayor said: "People can sometimes forget that taking care of their mental health is just as important as looking after their physical health.
"There are five simple steps people can take to improve their mental wellbeing. These are connecting with others, giving, learning, taking notice and being active.
"As this event demonstrated, there are lots of organisations in the Borough which can help to support people to feel better about their lives."
