One of the biggest carnival parades in the North East, the hugely popular South Tyneside Festival Summer Parade returns on Saturday 6 July.
We will be heading to a galaxy far, far away with this year's parade as the theme is all about space.
Inspired by the likes of Star Wars and the moon landings, it will be a cosmic adventure to remember!
Expect to be hugely impressed with amazing costumes, fantastic floats and fabulous song and dance as the parade makes its way from South Shields Town Hall to Bents Park at South Shields Seafront, where the fun will continue with even more entertainment all afternoon long including a grand finale performance.
You can take part! We would love to hear from you if you would like to take part in this fantastic event. We are holding special information sessions where you can pop in to find out more. These take place at St Hilda's Pit Head, South Shields (next to Wickes) between 11am & 8pm on the following dates:
Monday 1 April
Tuesday 2 April
Thursday 4 April
Friday 4 April
At these sessions you will have the opportunity to talk to the talented team at Creative Seed, with whom the Council are working closely to deliver what will be another spectacular Summer Parade. To book a place at one of these sessions and for more information please contact Creative Seed on 07920107479 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The Summer Parade is brought to you by South Tyneside Council, with support from our media partner BBC Newcastle.
