Progress made on a £100million scheme to regenerate South Shields town centre will be outlined at the next meeting of East Shields and Whitburn Community Area Forum.
The South Shields 365 masterplan, which aims to position the town as a year-round visitor destination, is now in its second phase with the building of the new transport interchange.
Members will be shown a presentation about progress made to date, including construction of The Word, National Centre for the Written Word, improvements to the public realm and market place, demolitions and property acquisitions.
Chair of the CAF, Cllr Alex Donaldson, said: "Anyone who has visited the town centre recently can't have failed to notice the buzz of activity.
"The transport interchange is taking shape and looking very striking with its gold exterior and The Word has welcomed almost one million visitors since it opened in 2016.
"I'm looking forward to hearing more about the masterplan, and in particular what we can hope to see in the coming months."
Members of the press and public are invited to attend the next meeting of the East Shields and Whitburn Community Area Forum, which is taking place on Thursday 14 February, at 6pm, at St Gregory's Church Hall, St Gregory's Court, off Borough Road, South Shields.
