I love South Tyneside, my children are born here. Our coastline is breath taking we have magical memories of making sandcastles at our beautiful golden sands. Walking and counting the steps at Marsden grotto We also take part in South Tyneside Parade, a real carnival atmosphere! A beautiful place to live and for children to thrive within a lovely community! What more could you ask for! South Shields has a host of amenities. We enjoy walking along our beautiful coastline, taking in splendid views of Cruise Ships that visit the Tyne. Making magical memories watching the Custom House Panto. We take part in South Tyneside parade every year, representing our Community. My Daughter was lucky enough to be one of the Dancers to open the parade with Nu Dance and the creative seed in July 2017! I think the Community spirit is very inspirational and how charities how been set up. Chloe and Liam Forever Trust, this has helped young people fulfil and establish dreams.
I would like to say that not only is South Tyneside family friendly but also extremely disability friendly. My 5 year old son is autistic and non-verbal. We have enjoyed going to the south shields museum to see Santa at the relaxed sessions and this was amazing. Santa is very patient and always gives great appropriate gifts. We also enjoy little lions at the museum this is very welcoming and accessible. We enjoy visiting the word as there is an accessible toilet and all the activities are always inclusive. We have enjoyed interactive stories and arts and crafts.
We have enjoyed visits to the customs house. We have been to many pantomimes such as the naughty elf and Jack and the beanstalk. We have also enjoyed the relaxed cinema showings. My son can make a lot of random noises and no one ever bats an eye at these places. We love how family friendly and disability friendly South Tyneside is.
We love raising our children in South Tyneside as it is so family-friendly! We feel safe taking our children to Haven Point and Hebburn Hub and we look forward to the opening of Jarrow Focus. Facilities such as the Word and the Customs House provide a great opportunity for families to spend quality time together. Not to mention our beautiful coastline and the many family-friendly venues along it's length. Add to this the free open air concerts, the summer festival and the drive-in-cinema....South Tyneside has got the lot! I would love to see a family discount/loyalty card introduced for leisure facilities.
