South Tyneside's school orchestras and choirs are gearing up to spread festive cheer with the return of the Civic Carol Concert.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to come and celebrate Christmas with an evening of seasonal songs and Christmas carols on Monday 4 December, from 7pm to 9pm, at Temple Park Centre, South Shields.
The audience will be treated to entertainment from the South Tyneside Orchestra alongside a host of choirs from schools including Bamburgh, Biddick Hall Junior, Cleadon CofE Academy, Harton Primary, Lord Blyton Primary, Monkton Juniors, Ridgeway Primary Academy, Toner Avenue Primary and West Boldon Primary schools.
Tickets cost £4 each.
The Mayor of South Tyneside, Councillor Olive Punchion said: "The Mayoress and I are really looking forward to the Christmas Civic Carol Service. The festive season is such a wonderful time of year and this is always a really special event where people can come together to celebrate Christmas and enjoy an evening of their favourite festive songs.
"We can't wait to see our very talented school children taking to the stage and getting everyone into the Christmas spirit. It promises to be a lovely evening for the whole family to enjoy."
