Contact the Let's Talk team
All of South Tyneside Council's Adult Social Care Services can be accessed through the Let's Talk team on 0191 424 6000 or email LetsTalk@southtyneside.gov.uk
The team will ensure that everyone has access to information and advice which supports their wellbeing. This will include online information, and telephone advice supported by trained Adult Social Care Advisors. This means information can be more responsive, up-to-date and tailored to individual requirements.
Those wishing to get in touch with the team via the website can request help with care online.
What happens when I contact the team?
On first contact with residents the team will ensure that support conversations will enable people to connect with support available in their community in order to maximise their independence and achieve the things that matter to them.
If a more in-depth, face-to-face discussion is needed to build on the initial conversation with our Adult Social Care Advisers, we will be offering appointments in a community base such as The Word and Hebburn Central. By meeting with people in community venues it supports our commitment to enable our residents to be connected to the wide range of resources and facilities available to them.
Our aim will be to support people to connect to the support available in their communities and networks.
If you are a carer, you may be offered an appointment at South Tyneside Adult Carers Service to connect you with support available specifically for carers, as well as wider networks to enable you to continue with your life in the way you wish to.
We are planning to extend our sessions into other areas of South Tyneside shortly.
If you are unable to attend one of the venues currently available, we will arrange for a home visit to be made where necessary.
I already have a named worker, who do I contact?
If you are already in touch with a named worker, you can continue to contact them using their direct phone number.
