Council and committee meetings
Coronavirus (COVID-19) update
All local authorities in England, including South Tyneside Council, were handed new powers to hold public meetings virtually by using video or telephone conferencing. Government have temporarily removed the legal requirement for Councils to hold public meetings in person during this ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
There is an extensive schedule of Council meetings, with all Council Committee meetings fully operational including Community Area Forums.
All committees are conducted virtually and, where required, members of the public are provided with the opportunity to ‘attend’ the meeting by watching the meeting by live stream via YouTube.
