South Tyneside's Young People's Parliament (STYPP)
Hello from the Young People's Parliament
"Hello, we are South Tyneside's Young Peoples Parliament. Our members are from different areas of the Borough, with age range from 14-19years old. We currently meet on a Wednesday, 6-8pm at Ocean Road Community Centre, to discuss issues that affect young people living in South Tyneside and come up with ways to help.
"As well as this, we have been lucky enough to take part in some amazing experiences like a trip to Germany and France, getting muddy on outdoor residentials, going to London to debate in the House of Commons, stuffing our faces at restaurants, this and lots, lots more!
"We run annual campaigns that have covered topics such as; mental health, child poverty and our current focus the young LGBT+ community. These campaigns have allowed us to reach out to further young people by hosting events for pupils and school staff all presented in a fun and interactive way, which provides us with the information we need to influence change!
"We are always looking for new members who can offer their opinion ensuring a variety of views are provided. Come on, yet involved and have your voice heard!"
