Open School Orchestras

‚ÄčOur Music Hub continues to work with Open School Orchestras to bring new experiences to SEN pupils who often miss out on the 'traditional' ensemble experience.

Open School Orchestras (OSO) is a national organisation, designed to support teams providing SEN/Disabled young people with opportunities to play in ensembles and to perform.  They provide adapted musical repertoire, schemes of work and a new generation of accessible musical instruments that young people can take home.  Teachers are given training and support to make sure everything runs smoothly!

In South Tyneside, Bamburgh School has developed their pilot ensemble and is one of the first five orchestras in the North-East. The children have blossomed and are really enjoying the experience
