Residents living in Jarrow and East Boldon can find out more about what is going on within their local neighbourhoods at the next meeting of their Community Area Forum.
At the meeting on Thursday (12 January) forum members will discuss a range of issues including crime and community safety with updates given on the latest work and initiatives of Northumbria Police, Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, Nexus and South Tyneside Homes.
Members will also receive a report outlining the main areas of activity and issues in relation to South Tyneside Homes.
Councillor Jim Perry, Chairman of the Jarrow and Boldon Community Area Forum, said: "Our meetings are an ideal opportunity for people to hear about what is happening in their local community.
"There is always a lot to talk about and I would encourage residents to come along and find out more about the things that affect their neighbourhood."
Members of the press and public are welcome to attend the meeting, which takes place at 5pm, on Thursday 12 January, at Boldon Community Association, New Road, Boldon Colliery.
