Write Together was formed in 1989. Over the years, we have had many workshops with acclaimed authors who have passed on their knowledge in the field of writing to us. We also hold organised workshops for the group, where hopefully even the more experienced writers can learn something.
Our ethos is to increase people's confidence and make them feel good about their writing. We share our knowledge and experience at these meetings in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, so that we can all gain in confidence in our writing.
We try to encourage the group to enter competitions, some in the monthly Writers Magazine to which we subscribe. Over the years we have produced poetry books, anthology books, diaries, etc. We have a few self publishers in the group. We also apply for grants, this enables us to buy equipment, which is used to help members with their writing skills.
We are based at The Word at the Market Square. We meet every Friday at 10.30am. These meetings are usually theme based.
At the end of the meeting, a theme or subject is announced for the next week. So if you would like to join us, come along on Friday. Everyone is welcome.
