Music in schools: Ensembles, events, concerts

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, ensembles, events, concerts are currently postponed.

Autumn 2020 ensembles 

We are waiting for final guidance on COVID-19, which may delay the start date for ensembles.

Our ensembles are free, as part of our funding for the Music Education Hub.

Ensembles planned for autumn 2020: 

  • Junior strings (for string players just starting out in their first ensemble) - Mondays, 3.45pm
  • Intermediate strings (for more experienced young string players) - Mondays, 4.45pm
  • Flute group (ensemble experience for flute players) - Saturdays, 11am 
  • Senior band (for intermediate/advanced woodwind, brass and percussion) - Saturdays, 9.30am 
  • Junior band (first ensemble for beginner brass, woodwind and percussion) - Saturdays, 9.30am
  • Drum young (opportunity for beginners to join a lively and fun samba band) - Saturdays, 10am

Also coming soon: 

  • iPad band - For pupils who have completed our taster project
  • RockWorks - Guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals (includes loan of instruments)
  • Ukulele band - Opportunity for pupils who have basic ukulele skills to join an ensemble
