Inspectors Want Your Views

A team of Government inspectors will be in South Tyneside next week as part of a Joint Review process looking at how the Council can improve its social care services.

This will be the first of many visits taking place over the next three months when the team will be meeting with:

  • Front line staff who provide social care services
  • Managers from across the Council
  • Senior councillors
  • Groups of users of social care services

As part of the process the inspectors are keen to obtain the views of the public on the Council's social care services. Anyone with any comments to make on the social care services received by them, a family member or a friend should contact the lead reviewer, Ella Yashin. All contact will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Following their visit, the inspectors will prepare a publicly available report detailing their findings and making recommendations for improvement. The report will also give the Council's social care services an overall score - the score will have two elements - a "current services" score and a "prospects for improvement" score.
