Over 50s living in the Hebburn South and Monkton areas can take advantage of free safety items if they go along to a Community Safety Roadshow on Thursday (25th April).
The event is being held in St Luke's Church Hall in Burns Head Road, Hebburn from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Experts will on hand to talk about crime prevention, fire safety, accident prevention and bogus collectors. Free personal safety alarms will be given out to all over 50s who go along.
Local Councillors Jim Sewell and Nancy Maxwell, who are Chair and Vice Chair of the Hebburn Community Area Forum, are urging as many people as possible to drop in to the Road Show event.
Councillor Sewell says: "This is an excellent event and anyone over 50 can go along to receive a free personal alarm and get advice about having smoke detectors, door and window locks supplied and fitted free of charge."
