The Customs House Community Choir and Youth Gospel Choir will perform at the reception which will also provide an opportunity for everyone with an interest in the issues of the Borough to discuss what is available.
The Mayor says: "Europe Day is an annual celebration of the diversity of cultures within Europe, and is held on May 9th. It is an opportunity to reflect on modern day Europe and the European Union and to bring the people of Europe, wherever they live, closer to each other. I hope this event in South Tyneside helps to bring new opportunities to our young people."
