Childminders in the Borough are invited to attend the launch of South Tyneside's 'Children Come First' Network.
The launch is to be held on Saturday 25 May at the South Tyneside Early Excellence Centre, Campbell Park Road, Hebburn (next to Bedewell School). The free event is open to all childminders and starts at 10.30am.
'Children Come First' is a quality assurance scheme for childminding networks. It was developed by the National Childminding Association (NCMA) in partnership with the Department of Education and Skills. Every childminder recruited onto the 'Children come First' Network must abide by the standards of the NCMA's Quality Childminding Charter and the requirements of its National Register.
Membership of the Network offers parents the reassurance that their children are being cared for by minders who have demonstrated high standards of competency. The Network offers childminders the opportunity to offer each other support and link up with the Network Co-ordinator.
The launch includes talks by Pauline Beadling, Childminding Network Co-ordinator and Val Carr, Regional Development Manager from the National Child Minding Association. Angela Brown from Internannies will give a presentation on Practical Play Activities. A free lunch will be served at 12.30pm.
