The National Canine Defence League will be visiting South Tyneside with their popular road show during the next two weeks. A mobile micro chipping/information unit will be visiting the Borough from Monday 10th to Thursday 13th June and Monday 17th to Thursday 20th June. Working in partnership with the Community Services Department, the NCDL will visit King Street, Jarrow Town Centre, and Hebburn Shopping Centre as well as estates in West Harton, Cleadon Park, Biddick Hall, South Shields, Finchale Road, Hebburn and Hedworth Estate, Jarrow. Owners can have their dogs micro chipped for £9.50 - free to people on benefit or pension. This allows lost dogs to be returned to their owners without incurring fines and boarding charges which are normally levied if dogs are detained by the dog wardens, on the first occasion only. Owners receiving certain benefits may also receive vouchers to have their pets neutered for only £20. Further information on the road show contact the Community Services Department on 424 7907 or the NCDL on 01325 335055.
