Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner elections

Postal vote update:

South Tyneside Council has been made aware that the delivery of some postal vote packs has been delayed for a small number of voters.

Whilst this is due to factors completely outside of the control of the local authority, we are taking steps to rectify the problem in time to make sure that everyone who wishes to vote is able to do so.

Those people affected have been identified and contacted with assurance that a pack will be delivered to allow them to vote in time for the election on Thursday 6 May.

All voters are reminded that there is still time to complete the postal vote and return it by post, right up until Wednesday 5 May or in person at any polling station on Thursday 6 May.
