Coronavirus (COVID-19) update
Due to government guidance on social distancing and the threat of Coronavirus, schools will be closed to the majority of pupils until further notice.
Schools will stay open for the children of critical workers and vulnerable children where they can. If a school needs to close, the school will contact those families directly about arrangements for their child including re-opening dates.
Your child's school will keep you updated on details of arrangements for key workers and vulnerable children.

Forest View Primary School, Rembrandt Avenue, South Shields, closed for the rest of today (Friday 27 March 2020) due to no pupils attending. It is expected that the school will reopen Monday 30 March 2020
Dunn Street Primary School, Staple Road, Jarrow has been fully closed since Tuesday 24 March 2020 due to no pupils attending. They will be closed for the rest of the week. The school will advise when it is expected to reopen.
Hedworth Lane Primary School will be closed to all after 4:30pm today, Tuesday 24 March 2020, due to staff shortage. The school will remain closed until further notice and will make contact with affected families about re-opening dates

The Government has announced that from Friday 20 March 2020 schools will remain closed for most pupils until further notice.
