Greenhouse Gas Emissions report 2012/13

South Tyneside Council is committed to reducing its carbon emissions to help tackle climate change, supporting the delivery of environmental improvements.

It is vital that we have a clear understanding of which activities generate greenhouse gas emissions so we can look at ways to improve what we do; minimising and reducing the impact of our carbon footprint on the environment.

In line with the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) recommendations, South Tyneside Council has produced its first annual Green House Gas Emissions report.

The report provides emission's data from Council operations, which will be used to help identify ways in which we can improve what we do thereby delivering reductions in carbon emissions, while saving money by becoming more efficient in the way we use and consume energy.
