Overview

South Tyneside Council declared a climate change emergency on 18 July 2019.

We are implementing strategies that will bring about real change.

We aim to:

  • make the Council carbon neutral by 2030
  • move to cleaner, greener, renewable sources of energy
  • enhance our natural environment
