With more than 30 years' experience of delivering high quality developments which bring real change to our towns and cities, Muse have delivered more than 16 million square feet of commercial and residential property.

The company has a broad portfolio of projects with a total area in excess of 25 million square feet and an end value of over £4 billion.


Local work carried out by Muse includes the redevelopment of Durham City centre including the Gala Theatre and surrounding leisure facilities.

Muse was the City of Durham Council's partner in the development of the Walkergate scheme - a mixed-use leisure-based development in the heart of Durham City centre.

Completed in June 2006 it comprises almost 50,000 sq ft of café/bars and restaurants (9 units), a 100 bedroom hotel and 500 car parking spaces along with a select development of 35 high quality apartments known as Freeman's Quay.


In Newcastle, Muse's Quayside developments set new standards for waterside development in the £200million pound project.

The quayside brought high quality office and leisure facilities to a largely unproven location, extending the boundaries of the city centre and creating a lively 24 hour quarter on the threshold of the 'blinking eye' Millennium Bridge.

Working through the Private Finance Initiative, Newcastle Estate Partnership (NEP) developed new facilities for around 16,000 HMRC staff working across the organisation's Newcastle Estate, valuing £250 million. The project involved decanting a huge and highly sensitive operation into bespoke accommodation and then managing the estate on HMRC's behalf.
