An older person's bus pass allows you to travel on buses in England for free, when you reach the state pension age.

Bus passes for disabled adults

South Tyneside Council is responsible for confirming your eligibility for a disabled bus pass.

Companion Card

If you need to take someone with you for bus travel, they can travel for free if you have a Companion Card.

Metro Gold Card

A Metro Gold Card will give you a year's travel on the Metro, Shields Ferry and on Northern Rail trains travelling between Newcastle and Sunderland.

A TaxiCard allows people with mobility difficulties to travel independently by taxi.

It is a smartcard scheme which you can use to pay part of your taxi journey if you are eligible.
