Bliss=Ability are an information, advice, advocacy and support service and offer free training for people living or working in South Tyneside.

  • Social Prescribing
  • Free courses on Self-Care and Health and Well-being
  • Free I.T. Courses and Drop in Sessions
  • Supporting the IDEA forum (Independent Disability Access Forum)
  • An advocacy service with a dedicated advocate
  • Volunteer Wellbeing Mentors
  • A payroll service for direct payments and personal budgets
  • A Saturday club for children with additional needs and their families
  • A translation service; putting documents into more accessible formats
  • Providing information about local support groups, equipment and signposting for welfare and benefits rights and other disability issues

  • How to contact them
  • Types of equipment
  • Where to access them
  • Who to contact to ensure you are receiving the right benefits
  • How to get support or respite as a carer of a family member
  • Any other matters relating to disability
