Drewetts Park

Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

The Government has ordered communal places within parks such as playgrounds to close.

Parks are open but communal spaces within parks such as playgrounds and football pitches are closed.

Please remember to follow the national guidance on social distancing and make sure you distance yourself by 2 metres from other people. Please remember that gatherings of more than six people are not allowed.

History

In 1910 Drewett Ormonde Drewett died childless leaving Jarrow Hall to his uncle's grandson, Alfred Henry Chaytor. Alfred never lived in Jarrow, but in 1910 he donated part of the Hall's estate to Jarrow Town Council as a public park in memory of Drewett Ormonde Drewett.
